Exo 3500 Raincover

The kuiu rain covers are pretty good. They have a couple different sizes i think

Main bag is waterproof, but the lid is only cordura or however it is spelled lol. The drawstring side pockets if expanded aren't fully water tight due to the drawstring and the mesh pocket is mesh. Main bag is waterproof

The bag material is waterproof, but if its raining pretty good, you'll get water inside the bag from the top (the lid and the snow collar are not waterproof) which ends up pooling up at the bottom of the bag. Granted, it takes a pretty good and sustained rain for this to happen and its not a big issue, but, if you live in the rainy PNW, you may want a rain cover. I didn't have a problem with it in CO, but spent 5 soak and wet days in the Smoky Mountains bear hunting in conditions comparable to the PNW and I was wishing I had a rain cover.

Yea my thought exactly... Steve said they are working on one, but it won't be ready for awhile. idk if it is new to the 2015 models, but there is a small grommet/drain hole in the bottom of the main bag.

Pretty confident I will get a rain cover... PNW is hard on gear.

I've been hiking in Wa for 20+ years and have never felt the need to buy a raincover. I do,however, always carry a tarp and a 5mil contractor bag which I place my pack in every night.
