Exo 3500 mods/add ons

It would work just fine the grabit ghooks will mount to the bottom slide locks on the bag and or on the frame used grabit on mine last hunt season. Will get your some photos if you want.

I would love some photos.. No hurry though

I don't have one, so it would have to be SHTF... What about the beaver tail don't you like? I ask cuz I have one on back order...

I just want to use it like the grab it, mainly to hold the bottom of my bow in but also maybe my puffy or a skull.. The beaver tail does that, but it has alot of un-needed buckles and you kind of have to fold it over itself to make a pouch like a grab it.. I guess all in all it's more versatile, but I don't have any plans to use it any differently than the grab it and I really like the simplicity of the grab it..

What color

Have you tried mounting it to the upper strap loops on the frame so it can't fold over as far? Just an idea. Idk if it works or not.

Like the looks of that second pouch:) At this point I have two of the exo pockets, + I want room for my revolver while bowhunting

That second pouch really is nice. It is about the same size as the exo pouch, but has a lot of internal compartments. It attached with MALICE clips. I put some velcro on the back of the clips to hold it to the exo belt so it wouldn't shift around.

Im in the market for a Kifaru Camp bag. From the looks of it the straps on the campbag would work perfect on the exo frame cause it has tab loops. I plan to give that a try. After looking at this setup I posted... Leave the lid and grabit and take off the Highlander add the camp bag and I have a decent 5800 pack that should work flawless for me. Excited to try this out.

Good call I think... that was something I was debating about over vs the highlander as well... I am assuming then that you would drop that bag at camp and hunt with the 3500 compressed? or just the lid and grabit?

Just lid and grabit. Lid is really good size coats and bigger things can rest in grabit cinched down. I do have this HPG25 Bag Im gonna try also. I like the camp bag zip style better though the HPG CM25 bag is top zip only.

How do you feel the grab it would handle quarters or meat bags?

Here are a couple of mods/add ons that I am testing out on my 3500. These would be for longer trips to add a little versatility.

Added a Kifaru medium rolltop Pod for bag/pad etc.
Added a Kifaru
Organizer Pocket

Seems to work really well, tho I will play with a couple different attachment options for the organizer pocket (also fits perfect in the lid)... I also think I will be replacing the bedroll tri-glide with a buckle for easy access.

Also looped the lid attachment point through the shoulder strap molle as when the bag is fairly compressed I wanted a way to have it sit over the frame better. This seems to really cinch it down and cover the side pockets as well.

So far really happy with how this pack is working out!

How do you think a OR Durable Dry Bag would work instead of the pod? I'm thinking I'd like to run something just a little bit smaller and a little lighter.. I was thinking a 10L one of these:

I wish the daisy chain went all the way down the side and didn't stop though, that's my main concern.. Not sure if i'll be able to get both lashes through it

I would think it would work fine... I have a sealline dry bag that is similar that would work and I have thought about using in the rain etc. You would attach it just like any other bedroll. Why I like the Kifaru POD is the full length Daisy Chain on it, so to doesn't slide around and it compresses.

They do make a small too FYI... not to toot the kifaru horn, but it is only 10 bucks more and 1 once heavier... could be what you are after.

Hard to say from the pic, I would think you could make it work, but possibly miss one of the loops depending on how compressed it is.

I think you're right on.. I thought the small wouldn't be long enough but I took a tape measure to my pack last night and I think it will work perfect.. I already had an order placed with Kifaru so I just called them and added one on

Good deal!

Replaced most of the stock buckles with nexus itw buckles. Replaced the tri glides for the bedroll with 3/4 " buckles as well.

Got the Kifaru Camp Bag today. Will load it up this weekend and get some photos on here of it on the Exo Frame with the Guide lid and grab it. Its gonna work perfect.

Added the load panel and modified the lid to attach to the panel. On the frame it runs behind the meat shelf, so both can be used at the same time.
The kifaru organizer is behind the load panel.

Has anybody used just the frame and included compression straps to carry random loads? (e.g. camp chairs) When I take the bag off those compression straps seem to become useless because they're both female ends. Any fixes for this? Is there a female female connector I can buy? Seems like rearranging the male female ends on one side of the bag could solve this problem but they're sewn in.

You can replace the buckles on the bag with the split bar type and make one side male and one side female, so that those two sets of straps can buckle in to eachother.
