Here are a couple of mods/add ons that I am testing out on my 3500. These would be for longer trips to add a little versatility.

Added a Kifaru medium rolltop Pod for bag/pad etc.
Added a Kifaru
Organizer Pocket

Seems to work really well, tho I will play with a couple different attachment options for the organizer pocket (also fits perfect in the lid)... I also think I will be replacing the bedroll tri-glide with a buckle for easy access.

Also looped the lid attachment point through the shoulder strap molle as when the bag is fairly compressed I wanted a way to have it sit over the frame better. This seems to really cinch it down and cover the side pockets as well.

So far really happy with how this pack is working out!

How did you attach the organizer to the front of the pack?

At the moment they are just wire twist locked to the daisy chain... I am going to try and find to clips for a long term solution. The webbing on the back lines up very well with the daisy chain on the bag.

Might try getting 3 bar sliders from Kifaru for the attachment?

I believe it comes with them on the back... If they are what I think you are referring to... The daisy chain is a little too large for those to work like they do on a kifaru bag. Thinking some sort of clip or buckle... Any other ideas?

How about a slik clip? View attachment 24777

Funny you say that... I spent the last hour trying to find one in 3/4":)
The 2015 (idk about 2014) packs have those connecting the lumbar pad to the frame, so I had an idea as to how big they were and they just seemed too large for what I was looking for.

I ordered 4 of these:

I think they should work out as long as the slot is on the underside of the daisy chain.

Picked up two of these as well for the bedrole straps:

Hoping these mods all work out:) If anyone happens to know where I can find quick detach g hooks for 3/4" I may look at those as well...

If it's the distance between the stitched points you could just sew it to make it more narrow. I'd probably grab some strapping and a create horizontal daisy chain that would allow use of the 3bar sliders.

I too have a medium pod for my Exo. If my pack is on my medium pod is packed. Takes up just about no space yet can be used to stuff a lot of gear in when needed to make room.

Thought about that, but the stretch pocket may not be the best medium for sewing on... May still try a strap option tho

Hey, could you post some pics of how the pack sits with it on your back? I'm curious how far the pod hangs down

Yea ill try to tonight after work. It really doesn't hang much past the pack at all since the base of the pack is angled... Mostly just sits in that angled portion.

Here you go RB

HPG Highlander on the exo frame

More to come on this I just got my Kifaru Guide lid to add to this and I have a Grabit to go with it. I also have a Kifaru Tailgunner 1 Im gonna throw in the mix. I think I can add it with highlander on exo frame on the bottom.

nope the Highlander comes with 3 compression straps you can use to wrap around back of the frame. This marries perfect to most frames out there.

Nice... So it sounds like you could actually have that between a 35 or 5500 in the load shelf as a pack able daypack option for longer hunts?

If I remember correct you have last years bag... I'm betting you could very easily use the new bags lid since it floats in conjunction as well as opposed to a kifaru lid... Just a thought if you are trying to stay compact. I can run the lid with just the frame on this years model...

This was my day hunt setup last year. I put this on the frame like you see leaving it compressed with like my sleeping mat folded instead of rolled up. My Ground Tarp My Tent anything that was low profile in it. Rest of my gear would go into main exo 3500 which then I compressed over the Highlander to the Frame. Worked great. When I got to camp I dropped my exo 3500 put my day hunt gear in the Highlander and off to hunt. Came back later setup camp.

I really really like the Guide Lid. its a nice piece of kit. So I may just stick with it instead of the exo Lid. THought about cutting off my Exo 3500 lid and just using the Guide lid instead. It would be a better setup for me.
