Evolution outdoors Hyde

I heard Dan and Brian talking these up on the Eastmans podcast and thought I might give them a try until I got online and saw all the pics of bent blades and bent ferrules. Hard pass

Bent/chipped blades can happen in many situations. I'm shooting 150g heads so the ferrules are stainless steel, Those are intack. I'm also shooting a 535g arrow at almost 290fps so there was A LOT of energy there. I chipped an Iron Will solid 150g SB with a hard rock impact post deer kill about 3 weeks ago. Its highly possible one of my blades hit a rock in the ground and bent that way. The 100g heads are the only aluminum ferrule that Evolution offers. Even if the blade did bend as a result of shooting through ribs, I've seen fixed blades hit in the same location and have very long track jobs. I didn't even have to track this animal. A bent blade is kind of the cost of doing business. Replacement blades are basically $12(with shipping) per ferrule, and I'd rather have an easy/no track job for the cost of $12. If i wanted to save money I'd stop putting wraps on my arrows.

I love the blades, they’re what I shoot and I’ll probably always shoot them! I will say the only trouble I’ve had (only happened one time) was in the Midwest shooting white tails (I was fairly new into bow hunting at the time) but shot a doe and it was a clean pass through, come to find out the broadhead didn’t open up, I guess I overtightened the screws for the blades so the mechanical portion never opened up. I’ve learned now that was more than likely just a user error in overtightening the screws, but haven’t had the problem since. They cause some DAMAGE both good and bad shots
