Grim reaper micro hades fixed 125gr total arrow weight of 365 grs at 311 fps. Shot my bull at 27 yards with a full pass through on a slight quartering away down hill angle. Died right where I shot him.

Iron will 125 gr double bevel. 43 yard shot. Like the guy from a few posts back, essentially zero blood. Also like the guy a few posts back, he died within eyesight so lack of blood wasn’t a huge problem.IMG_3580.jpeg

Switched to Sevr Ti 1.5 Hybrids this year. I’ve never been a mechanical fan until now. Both deer I shot were 21-25 yards and I watched both fall in 30 yards or less. Going to try the 2.0 on spring turkey.

I’m adding sevr 1.5s to my quiver for long shots this year. You have any experience with those?

I don’t. I’ve been a fixed blade COC for 40 years. Did try the Hypodermic and SpitFires once. Did not care for them.
I personally like the extra blades on the Hybrid and they fly with my FP, but then so do ViperTricks.

Two bulls and one white tail all fell to a Magnus Black hornet, last fall.

Qad exodus 125 grain, 70lb Mathew’s lift, 480grain arrow….. 76 yards on a spike pass through ran 40 yards and piled up, missed the same elk at 30 and the arrow hit a rock and split the rock in two, that arrow still spins true on the arrow spinner. I’m very happy with the exodus

I used the Tuffhead 125 grain single bevels this year and based on the results, I will continue to use them.
Specs are:
Draw weight = 71 lbs
Draw length = 29"
Arrow length = 29.5" carbon to carbon
Arrow = Sirius Apollo 250 spine with 100 grain SS outserts
Total arrow weight = 560 grains +/- 2 grains

Deer #1 - Ohio 9-point
Shot distance = 29 yards
Deer angle = slightly quartering towards
Shot from = 16' ladder stand
Result = Entrance right in the vital-v (can be seen in the picture). Arrow went right through, skipped on the ground and was caught in the briars about 5 yards behind where the deer was standing (pic #2). Deer ran about 12 yards, stopped, looked around and then did a little sideways stumble for about 10 yards before going down. Very little blood until the point where he stood, but he was dead so quick it didn't matter.

Deer #2 - WV 9-point
Shot #1 distance = 23 yards
Deer Angle (shot 1) = slightly quartering away
Shot from (shot 1) = 15' high box blind
Result = At the shot, the deer took a step forward, so the shot entered about 12" back from where I intended to shoot. It was also a touch high. You can see the exit in the picture (higher one further back). The arrow passed completely through and stuck about 8" into the dirt. At the shot he whirled around and took a few bounds back into the woods (he was standing in a food plot) and ducked under an old barbed wire fence (old property line boundary). He took another couple of steps and then turned back to follow a doe who had spooked at the shot and then had turned back to head back into the plot. I could see the blood at the exit and knew the hit wasn't great, so I nocked another arrow. When he got to the edge of the plot, I took shot #2.
Shot #2 distance = 30 yards
Deer Angle (shot 2) = slightly quartering towards
Shot from (shot 2) = same box blind
Result = The shot hit the femur/shoulder ball joint on the on-side and exited at the point of the leg (bottom of the V) on the off-side (you can see the exit in the picture). The arrow did not completely pass through as it was found broken about 10 yards from where the deer was hit. Due to how it was found and the blood on a 4" diameter sapling, my assumption is that the arrow was sticking out about 3/4" of the way and when the deer bolted past the tree, the arrow hit it, breaking it and ripping it out the rest of the way.
When I got down and went to the spot of the second hit, I found a very good blood trail. Upon following it, I quickly figured out I was back-tracking blood to the first shot. Once I figured that out, I was able to find the second blood trail and follow the deer down. According to OnX, my total track distance was 157 yards, however it was downhill and the deer rolled the last 20-30 yards before coming to rest feet up against a tree. Also, the track only took me 5 minutes and 23 seconds, if that gives any indication on the quality of the blood trail. I firmly believe that had I been using an expandable or a less-sharp broadhead, I would not have even gotten a second shot and it would have made for a long night and quite possibly a deer that wouldn't have been found due the rain that came in (I was tracking in a good drizzle that turned into a good light rain by the time we were doing recovery).

Deer #3 - WV doe (147 lbs) - Point to note on this one is that the broadhead used was the same one I used on my Ohio buck. Just resharpened it and put it back in the quiver.
Shot distance = 12 yards
Deer angle = broadside
Shot from = 15' box blind
Result = shot entered right behind the shoulder at about mid-body height, passed through, exiting low body and was buried about 6" into the dirt behind the deer. I was shooting to maximize the blood trail as I am training my 1-year old beagle on bloodtrailing deer. I did not immediately follow the trail as I wanted the dog be the first on the trail. Went to the cabin, got the dog and we went back out. He got on the track right away and I saw first blood about 4 yards past where the arrow was. I saw good blood during the track. She ended up going about 30 yards, downhill, before stopping next to a tree and standing for a bit. I could tell this due to the large puddle of blood at the base of the tree. From there she went another 10 yards before piling up (I assume a death stumble). Dog went right to her. I don't have any pics of this one as I had my hands full with the pup.

Evolution Hyde 150gr glue in, Pro Comp, 443gr, 290fps. 70lb, 27.6” draw.

Shot was 78yrds, held forward due to wind but didn’t account for the bull being own in a draw with no wind as I was on the ridge with a cross wind. Arrow passed through and the bull walked about 100 yards and fell over. He stopped and looked around on the ridge across from me skylined and I could see blood running out of him. He was with several cows and 4 other 6 point bulls were following them. The head performed flawlessly entered through the front of his shoulder and exited through his offside leg.

Here’s the head after washing it off. You can still see a bit of skin or fat at the base of the blade. It could be touched up and reused no problem, honestly it probably wouldn’t even need touched up. I’m defiantly impressed with the head.

No pictures as they were management whitetails does in PA, but I tried the grim reaper whitetail extreme, tooth of the arrow 1 inch vented, sevr 1.5, and 1.75. All 125gr.

The whitetail extreme was a 32yd shot, ended up through the scapula into the spine. About 6 inches of penetration. She dropped but needed a second arrow. Upon recovery all 4 blades broke off when they hit the spine. Despite this I am actually curious to use it again next year on hopefully a better shot.

TOTA 1 inch was 21yds on a doe that came to see the commotion. She was very hard quartering to, almost frontal. Arrow slipped in her neck, severed a lot of ligaments in her shoulder, and then went into the lungs. Total penetration of about 18 inches. She also dropped.

Sevr 1.5 was 50yds through both lungs. 110yd recovery, sparse blood for the first half and then very nice in the second. I have noticed this a lot with Sevr heads.

1.75 was used to finish the first doe. Not a standard test but it went completely through her chest cavity vertically and made a picture perfect 1.75 inch hole in her heart. Dead within 10 seconds of that shot

One of the things I really like to hear about every year is everybody's experience with broadheads they used this hunting season. I think it's great to hear about good/bad experiences with different heads so we can all gain information if people are looking for different broadheads for 2025. Let us know what heads you used, what animals you shot with them, and how you liked them or didn't. The more information the better.

I would so love to get us started off here but unfortunately my target buck evaded me for around 40-45 sits this year, so somebody else is gonna have to get this thing started :)
I brought down two eastern whitetail bucks this year using the g5 dead meat v2. 28.5 draw, 58lb draw weight. One clean pass through and one got blocked coming out the back end of rib cage. Worked very well

This fall yielded 8 deer and 1 coyote for me with grim reaper pro series 1 3/8 mechanicals.

Furthest track job was right at 100 yards, watched most of the 9 critters die. Great blood trails as usual. Another great year with grim reapers in the quiver. It would take a heck of a lot for me to try something else at this point.
