Ever have to carry your dog off a trail?

In my early 20's, my uncle and I went backpacking about 7 miles into the Uintas. He took his 3 legged German Shepard. The dog did fine going in but after a couple days camping and exploring, the dog couldn't get up. I carried it out, plus my pack. Some memories settle down over time. That one still hurts. The dog went on to live a few more years. I'm pretty sure it knocked a few off my life.

Once! Luckily he was a puppy and only 30lbs! I pushed him too hard on this trip....

I try to condition my dogs as much as I can, this pup went trough hell during archery season. Almost a year old now, he has zero issues getting around.

Recently had to carry a dog out about 2 miles with her guts hanging out. I was glad to have a buddy with me to keep switching back and forth. Got her to the vet and is expected to make a full recovery.
