Curious how durable the ethics outserts are. Looking at running full length aluminum post and aluminum collar on black eagle x impact

If durability is what you are after then I would pair their aluminum post and stainless outsert.

Unless you are looking at the lightest possible option you could cut the post to the minimum which would recover most of the extra weight in the stainless outsert (think the outserts about 30 grains heavier in steel compared to aluminum)

Ive actually ordered all aluminum already. Id have to cut the post down and drop to a 100 grain head to use the stainless sleeve. I did email them if they will cancel my order i might just do that of not ill see how the aluminum holds up.

The aluminum would be better than your carbon taking the beating if you hit something and if you don't glue the outsert it would be as simple as swapping it out if you beat it up but aluminum anything that may be impacting a rock at over 200 mph can rarely be called "durable" :)

Lol true. I would think the ethics aluminum will be better than the stock outsert. At least there is a footer so hopefully carbon wouldnt break. I dont plan on hitting anything hard unless it passes through an elk then it can break as much as it wants to.

I don't think you would have to go to a 100gr head. The added length of the AL insert shortens the dynamic section of the shaft and makes what you were thinking a moot point.

Im trying to keep my weight at 465. That will be 265-270 fps. I need a pretty flat trajectory as i hunt in thick lodgepole. Im guessing you are talking about spine?

Yes I assumed you were talking about spine.

Regardless, the stouter ethics system from they have told me is AL post with steel sleeve due to the length of the AL post.

They cancled it. Re ordered with ss sleeve. Ill have to run 100 grain heads and 100 grains insert. Be 10 grains heavier than i wanted but im sure itll be just fine. Shooting 29.5 inch draw 65 pounds. Have 300 spine according to victory calculator ill be good with the extra weight up front. Might have another half inch cut off my arrows if i have room

Cutting an inch off the arrow would save the weight you're gaining with the SS sleeve + AL insert.

Not sure how much i can cut. I ordered 29.5 because i dont have a saw. I want the back of the broadhead even with the front of the riser in other words i dont want a broadhead on the shelf. Ill have to see what it looks like when eveything gets here

Unless you are shooting really slow to start with (my compound is a mid 1990's Jennings that only makes 220 fps with a good tail wind) 10 or 15 extra grains will be almost unnoticed at least up close (to 40'ish yards) where even a 50 grain difference, if you are shooting closer to 270 fps, only translates into an extra 3 inch of drop at 40 (which is still in the vital area if you shoot for the middle and that would be "50 grains heavy") - of course, the more you stretch it out the more you would see.

Im leaving the post whole so ill be using 210 grains total up front. Taw 485ish foc about 15%. Should still be in the low 260 fps
