Estimated score?

He did have a 4th on his right if I recall correctly. Should really start scoring more bucks! Lol. Comming from black tail country, all mule deer look big lol.

110-115 maybe.

He's pretty. Yes, he's a 4x3, you can see the bump on the main beam where the the other point is.

What I did when I went was made a decision on what wanted my first/likely only muley buck to look like and it was similar to that one. Wanted symmetry and at least a 120 3x3. Ended up with a bigger buck somehow. Would have no complaints either way.

I do like to give folks a hard time if they shoot a buck like that and complain that there are no big ones around. That's just cause they didn't want a big one bad enough. If you shoot any buck, at least be and act happy about it. You have a year to wait to do it again.

Decide what you want and go get him. Hope you get one that make you smile.

I would put him around 110"

1.5" g1 x2
10" g2 x2
6" g3 x2
3" g4
17" Beams x2
25" total mass
15" spread
score of 109"

He'll score 2 backstraps and 2 tenderloins if you shoot well. His horns you can't eat, but they look like maybe 120ish.

That buck would get shot by 90% of all hunters if given the opportunity day 1 of season. People say they want a 150+ buck until they have a pretty deer in their scope. He is a pretty buck with both eye guards. Not many are passing that buck.

Also not all mule deer bucks have both eye guards. My friend killed a 170 class buck that had a single 7/8" eye guard. He wanted his next one to have both eye guards. His next deer was a 150 class buck with two 2" eye guards

He is "We shoot bucks like that where I come from" inches. 4 point with brow tines. Unless one has had opportunity to take quite a few large mule deer, don't see why one would pass it unless you are in a legitimate trophy unit/season.

I can't believe how many guys put this buck in any sort of shooter category. Eye guards...who cares the buck is a dink and not pretty by any measure. And no I don't kill a lot of big Mule Deer. Every buck I've killed has ben between 135-170"...

nah, shoot what you want. Lots of guys have a hell of a hunt every year and never get caught up in scores and inches. Go kill a buck, spend time in the woods with friends and family, and bring home some meat. IMO that’s what it’s all about!

I will say I can’t believe how many guys are overestimating this thing by 30-40”!

That is perfectly good first buck for a youth, NR youth. Mule deer of any height look huge to whitetail hunters. Dead to the "if it's brown" crews.

It may be small but it is still a pretty buck.

Your buddy has done well for himself. Beautiful big buck. Good frame on the smaller buck.

This is a 160 on the button. 300#.
