Equipment/Components in High Humidity

Currently moving from NM to South Texas and I’m worried about how the humidity is going to affect my reloading components, equipment, and my ammunition in general.

What are the best practices at lessening the effects moisture? I planned on storing pretty much all of these things in the garage as our current rental doesn’t really leave us with another good option. There’s lots of conflicting information out there, but my plan is to keep any powder, primers, and electronics inside and lubricate any moving parts on the presses.

I coat presses, dies, shell holders, etc. with a light coat of a thin aerosol oil after using it, then wipe it off before using again. I’ll check on it every couple of months if I go long periods without using it. It’s worked well for me so far.

Store primers and projectiles in sealed plastic tubs

Hornady One Shot gun lube, not the sizing lube for all metal parts.

Whatever you do, keep your powder and primers inside the AC.
When I lived in Texas I would put a light coat of Rem-Oil on the dies and wipe them down (inside with a Q-tip). Never had a problem with rust.
