I was just getting to know IMR 4166 and 4955 and now learned that IMR is discontinuing them. That was a short run. :( Now I have about a pound and a half of both powders with no real point in continuing to load with them.

IMR 4166 was a very consistent and accurate replacement for Varget, I found. Not the fastest but always very accurate for me. I'm trying 4955 in my 6.5 CM with 140's just to see if I can use it up there. I had originally bought it for my .284 Wins when I couldn't find H4831.

Anyone else in this position, left holding the Enduron bag?

Yes, that's why I keep trying to buy your 4166!

I'm hoping Winchester Staball additions fill the loss. 6.5 Staball has been more available, cheaper, and meters better than H4350. My hope about the new Staball offerings is the reason why I haven't bought a bunch of Varget to replace 4166.

Yep I’m left with just over a pound of 4166, a pound of 4955 and half or so of 7977.

I did recently pick up some staball 6.5 so will see how that fits in.

I have a good supply of the powders that propel my preferred loads so most of these random pounds sit around.
My plan when I get to it is to post for local area trade or sale along with many others. Pushing 15 different variations I have no use for

I was surprised to see this post under the Staball announcement from October. I just opened an 8lb jug of 4166. So far it only has about 450 grains taken out for initial load development for my 7mm08.

I am always reluctant to stray for Hodgdon. But I REALLY fell in love with 8082XBR in a 223 Ackley. I probably have 8-10 pounds of it. May last me til I die.

Across all these powder and primer shortages....I completely revamped my loading. That was the joy and beauty of reloading....the tweaking and testing.

Now....I roll H4350, H1000 and 8082XBR exclusively. THat's it. Stock pile as much as I can. And make one of those three work.

I've got a bunch of 4451.

We should put a enduron buy/sell/trade post in the classifieds so everyone can share where they are and what they have or want.
Are you looking to sell any? I have my .270 load dialed in with 4451, but started buying H4350 since it looks like 4451 is history.....

Yeah...
We keep reloading stuff at my parent's due to space and our kid was an infant when I started. It happens to be right by the car wash place so I'll stop by and see what I have.

If you ever get to the left coast I have 18 pounds of 4166 I'd sell for a deal

My first choice is Hodgdon. But Enduron was available so I bought it when I could. Loaded for 223, 22-250, 280, etc .. has anyone else had incomplete burn or residual powder in the chamber or cases with Enduron? My cases have occasionally been dented after firing.
