Embarrassing Question, lodged bullet help!

I'd cut it and rock on. Laser bore sighter safe a great way to ruin a rifle or sign up for plastic surgery. I found one that had been shot to the 100 yard line once. No telling what the rig looked like.

I'd get some AeroKroil and spray it down the barrel and let it sit with muzzle down so that the AeroKroil can start to try working its way between everything. If you see it start dripping out the end of the barrel, you know that it's penetrating. Then I'd find myself a metal rod to try driving them out with. A brass rod, or a metal rod with brass end on it would be ideal.

wouldn't freezing it contract the barrel and cause even more pressure? Heating it would expand the metal of the Barrel but it could also soften it.
I agree with Woodbow, except I would get a bunch of penitrating oil down the Barrel and leave it over night, drill a hole big enough for a dent puller and use the slide action of the dent puller to pop it out.

^^ thats what I would do...it will come out with the metal rod.

Like stated try to drill out the center and then use a brass rod to pound it out. You can wrap it in tape to protect the bore and make it a tighter fit also.

How would you guys recommend drilling that out without the risk of the drill bit walking or going off center and cutting into the barrel? It sounds like a good idea, but without somehow mounting it securely under a drill press, I'd be leery of hand drilling.

If you are concerned, then use a smaller diameter bit that will give you more margin for error. The drill bit will not want to bite into the barrel. It will take the path of least resistance, which is the blockage. The barrel is hardened steel.

I might be a little more outside the box than most, but worst case scenario i would cut off the blocked portion of the barrel and then debur it. Basically I would exhaust all options before buying another barrel.

yeah. I figuring I'll build a box jig taper ream some cross boards. the barrel increases in diameter so should settle in tight. and I'll plumb the bore to the drill press and like Woodbow said start with a super small bit. And at least it's only a 22 mag. I figured when all said and done maybe I'll Fire some lapping rounds through it and then go see what it does. cutting down is also always an option if it can't be cleared. Thanks for all the suggesting thus far from everyone.

Use a small sharp (new) 1/16th bit to pilot drill a hole then move up to a size you are comfortable with. I still like the dent puller over a rod, but either or get some kind of penitrating oil down the barrel the night before.

Before drilling I would plug the chamber, fill barrel with copper solvent and let sit over night (repeated a few times), then pick up a brass rod from the hardware store long enough to use to drive out the bullet (no wooden dowels!).
I'm not sure if the solvent will have an appreciable effect but it would be worth a try

A trick a friend taught me, is to find a piece of tubing that will fit the bore, and then use/build a drill bit that fits inside the tubing.

Probably easier on a bigger bore diameter.

Hey anyone think Compressed air with prenitrating oil might do the trick without beating a rod down the Barrel?
probably not? it would be a PITA to secure a plug and valve to the breach. just a thought

I think the freezing trick or perhaps heating might do something. If not, I would check the length of the barrel. If its long enough to be legal after cutting off the plugged section, then I would break out the hacksaw and shorten the barrel! Then I would get the right pilot from Brownells and use my tools to recrown the muzzle.

Planning on being tomorrow's project. put solvent in 2 nights in a row.
