Elk tactics

Picked up a left over archery cow elk tag here in utah on a pretty popular LE unit. I have the last 2 days of the hunt to be out. (Sep 5-6)

I was considering going to a few different water holes and see if they had activity and sit.

Any other tactics you’d suggest with such little time? Area I’m planning on isn’t very decent for glassing. 2 whole days to find a cow and get a shot.

I’d walk around and do a few sets of lost calf / cow mews.

Plan to put miles on and where there's bulls, there's cows. Chase the bugles!

In September (the best month) you get to hunt cows the same way you hunt a bull. You just get to skip the getting past his cows part!
