I had to face the reality that I don't have a high enough ceiling to put a full shoulder mounted elk on the wall at my house so I opted for the euro mount and had my taxi freeze the wet-tanned hide in the event I convince my wife that we need to pop the top on my man cave and make room. Pretty happy how we turned out.

Great elk!! Pedestal would be an option but get it or the shoulder done when you can. That is a big big beautiful magestic elk, would look great as a shoulder. Euros are nice too but on a big elk like that a shoulder is awesome.

Appreciate all the comments guys. I may end up getting a shoulder mount done but have to finish a house remodel now that doesn't allow for a shoulder mount without a pedestal solution. I'm leaving my options open and pushing to get my GC to raise the only ceiling I have a choice to without killing my pocketbook. Who knew a majestic elk would have THIS domino effect on my budget?!?!

You can't go wrong with a shoulder or euro.

Whatever you do, don't compromise on the pose due to space restrictions. If you can't get the shoulder mount in the right pose, then leave him euro'd.
