Elk hunting hypothetical

I always take my bow out on the first load.

If you fall and get hurt the last thing you want to have on your mind is you $1500 bow still being in the woods with an unknow date of being back in your hand.

My last load is horns, and I don't want to be dealing with my bow while I am carrying horns through the dark timber....I'm more concerned about preserving my eyesight for years to come.....

Some people on here will get that joke.

I used to leave my bow in the truck, until I had my strings stretch and my wraps bubble and melt off the arrows. Now, during the day, I keep it in my office. I get some odd looks but people are used to it now.
