Haven’t tried Irish Setters, but love the various pairs of Danners I own. On my Danners, I typically go up a half size versus what I wear in regular running/tennis shoes for best fit

I have Irish Setter light weights. I would walk barefoot to shed even the 3 pounds total of shoe weight if weather allowed. Sneakers are an option but again weather and terrain dependent. I have had several pairs Danner Pronghorn and liked them as well.

Depends on your preferences. Those two brands you listed are about as stiff as a tennis shoe (and about as durable as well). I've had good success with Salewa, Lowa and Scarpa and hunt elk 10+ days a year in NW Wyoming.

I bought a pair of Irish Setters about 10 years ago and they have been awesome for me. When they finally blew out I looked into getting a new pair and steered away from them due to all of the bad reviews I was reading of their newest models. Went with the Thor Crispi boots and love them.
