Anyone read the latest issue of the magazine yet? There was an interesting article comparing many of the options on the market for us elk hunters. Jay Scott looked at reeds, external calls and tubes and gave his take of all of them. I put an order in for a few items with Jason Phelps a few days ago and judging by the reviews of his products in the article, I'm sure I'll be very happy. The cool part is that he is local to me here is western WA. We even talked about him making some custom reeds in the future for my goofy calling style. For some reason I can only use the Raging Bull with any kind of all-around skill, albeit limited. Lol.

Anyways, check it out.

Thanks slim. Just read it. I ordered a couple of phelps elk diaphragms. I have never tried any of the phelps. I like to try new ones to see how they fit my mouth. A good fit goes a long way in making quality elk sounds.

No problem. Good luck. Finding the perfect reed can be tough.

I read it. His business is taking off. Great to see. I personally like the bugling bull reeds and temptress more than Jay Scott did.

I bought some Phelps calls and I really like them. I think Jason has a bright future and customer service is top notch

I ordered my bugling bulls calls from elknut and the very next day my elk hunter magazine comes in with excellent reviews on Phelps game calls. I received my order from elknut super quick though and the mellow yellow sounds great. However, based on the review I just had to order the elk commander from phelps game calls. Ordered them last night as a matter of fact.
