I need another cooler for out of state elk hunting, anyone have a strong recommendation?
I’m trying to stay away from Yeti as they are easily double the price of similarly rated coolers.
I have a Pelican which can get a lot of boned out meat into but I need another cooler for a full elk.
Leaning towards the Bison 120. Made in USA and full lifetime warranty.
There are so many options to choose from I thought I’d ask here first.

I’m familiar with the small freezer + generator setup but I don’t want to deal with a generator and gas and all that mess. I sleep in my truck and don’t want to sleep with gas cans.
I’ve been using coolers and dry ice that keeps meat frozen hard for days.

Anyone have the perfect cooler setup?

I use two Igloo Polar 120s and both of them fit a bone-in bullwith room to spare so I imagine one would fit a boned out bull. I put dry ice on the bottom and regular ice on top. I killed my bull on the last day and there was still plenty of ice left in both coolers. Ice was placed in coolers on a Wednesday Night and the next Wednesday morning is when I killed that bull. They aren't expensive at all and I actually picked both of mine up used for $60 total.

A single 120 is doable (i've done it) but could be tight or even too small. I'd bump up the size.

I use the cheap ones as I am always within a 1-2 days of home.

Have you checked out the Canyon Prospector 150? Made in AZ. I've been really happy with my Canyon.

I have an orca 140. It fits a full elk, bone in, on multiple trips. They are no longer manufacturing coolers though.

One of my hunting partners bought one of those cheapie Harbor Freight mini carriers, built a wooden box for it, and lined it with ethafoam. He then would buy blocks of ice and line the bottom of the box. It would keep antelope in great shape for a week in NW Colorado. If you have room for a mini trailer, this was great.
