this winter i decided to try to bump up my foc. i went from a 100 gr tip to a 125.
this puts my arrow weight at 495.7 gr with a 12.06%foc.
im not worried about speed,im looking for punch.out of my 65# bow this seems like a good hard hitting arrow.
im new to arrow building so thats why im throwing this out there.
am i missing something? or am i in the ballpark

You will be fine. How do they tune with the heavier broadheads? I've always shot 125s.

i have only shot field tips so far. i shoot NAP hell razors, the 100 gr didnt take much tuning at all going from field tips to BH,so i didnt get that far yet.

Sounds like a good arrow. About where I am with a less FOC. The 125gr heads should shoot/tune fine. I've never shot anything else and never had problems with them. The only reason 100gr heads were made was speed.

Yer good to go. Check out the Woodsman Elite broadheads, they are amazing.

That will provide plenty of punch. I prefer a bit lighter arrow and a flatter trajectory so I can thread an arrow through overhanging branches, but that's just me. You should be good to go.

That's a good weight IMO you will pack some good momentum with that weight.

I personally have never worried about my FOC. my arrows fall 390-420 depending on setup but I prefer 100 gr because of having more options.

You'll have plenty of punch with that setup! Can't wait to see your harvest photos

Sounds like a great arrow! I went for a high FOC a few seasons ago (17%+) and will not look back. Never had an easier to tune setup.

I run a 100gr but with 92 gr insert for a total arrow weight of 493gr. 100/125 is all relative to your set up.

Sure it's reletive to your setup but the 100gr heads originally came out because of the speed game. Then they figured out FOC and now everyone is trying to figure out how to get more weight up front again.

Im running gold tip kinetic 200s cut 28 inches.. 125 grian broadheads and 75 grain brass inserts and 4 blazer vanes..

total arrow weight is like 576..

Looks good.
Had a friend convince me to change to 100 grain heads last year and I'm not sure I like it.
Will probably switch back to 125 grain heads this year or next. That will put me in the 449-450 gr range.

I run GT Kinetic 300s with 50grain brass inserts and 100grain heads for versatility total arrow weight is about 496 I think. They hit real hard at about 280 some fps. I considered going to Injexions but cant get enough weight in the front to make it worth dealing with the deep six stuff
