Elk and mule deer in Wyoming

I've been told there are units that you can hunt archery elk up until tomorrow then switch to mule deer rifle or stay archery elk if you want. Is that true ? Just curious because that might save me from making my first trip to elk country being a solo hunt.

Figured I would ask here to find out before wasting my time.

There are units in the western part of the state that have September 15th opener for rifle deer. So it is possible.

Okay that's what I was told. Just wanted to double check. My buddy who wants to go is willing to do that.
