The Army has yet again wrecked my hunting season. The bastards are keeping us in the field from 25 August til Sept 10th. I realistically got about 8 total days to bow hunt for elk and bear with an additional weekend for bear. Plan was to just go out each weekend and have a good ole suck fest til I cut my teeth, however now I’m down to barely any time and would appreciate any tips. Literally just trying to decide on either San Juan units. In actuality I’ll probably hunt both 78 and 81 and I’ve done enough map and ONX scouting to make the land nav gods happy and previous year statistics and everything except call the biologist which I will do as well within the next 2 weeks. Been planning this hunt all year. Just looking for any subject matter experts on these units with a little south San Juan wisdom the simplest PM with basic info on anything. Appreciate it.
