My favorite "Elf on the Shelf" moment remains the SNL skit Jason Mamoa did many moons ago. Watching that each year has become part of my Christmas tradition.

My wife started this with my kids a couple years ago, I didn't support it but when it was my turn to place the elf he ended up in the mouth of my bear mount. My kids found humor in that. I need ideas for this year, I like the idea to punch the tag.

Our kids have really like elf on the shelf, he’s been on top of a bear mount, inside the teeth of a mountain lion, has his own sleeping bag, and a few other things he uses.
