Not sure if this is a stupid question and search function didn't clear it up for me. When using a ballistic calculator, can elevation be used as a substitute for altitude?

Yes. The distance from sea level is what it needs. That is generally called elevation. Altitude is generally a distance above a fixed object. The calculator is using sea level as that object.

Thanks! Our camp is at 11,000 feet and I was shocked by the increase in downrange ballistics and thought I might have been doing something wrong by using the elevation.
