I am looking to start my journey of educating myself on moose hunting in Alaska and Canada. I am 25 and would love to do my first trip in my 30s. I am looking for any recommended materials (books, articles, podcasts, etc) that I can use to educate myself on anything that deals with moose hunting in the areas mentioned.

I downloaded The Inside Scoop pinned to the top of this forum and plan to start there. I would love to read any good books on the subject. I found that Hunt Elk by Jim Zumbo really helped me understand the beauty of hunting elk, and I am looking for something similar for moose.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

I would talk with Papa Bear or Renfros now. It will likely take 2-4 years to get in anyway. Both operations hunt a great area and have things down to a science.
I hesitated and went guided twice and it did give me the confidence I could do a drop off hunt. I regret not going when I was younger and the cost was $5,000 not $13,500 now.
You got time to scout forums and talk to others who have been. My advice is get in line and go!!

I would plan a trip up there as soon as you can. Flights are a lot cheaper than I ever thought they were and just going there and seeing some of the places, even if you don’t hunt takes a lot of the mystery away from it. You could go multiple times DIY much much cheaper than any guided hunt. Figure out the road system and available resources. It’s not as intimidating as most people make it out to be.
