Educate Me on Bear Hides?

I had no idea there were bears in Oklahoma. I leaned something new.

Have a couple killed over 500 every year. Only
Around 50-75 total harvest but current record 605 lb. I killed 400 last year. 75inch. Archery and muzz seasons only

I am interested in this topic. I am circling some options for a first bear hunt next year. A few questions:

- I have heard spring bear is the way to go for a better hide as they tending to rub bald patches and beat up their skins throughout the summer. True?

- approximately what should a taxidermist charge for a rug prep on a hide and cleaning a skull?

I paid 1400 for my rug and skull
I would highly recommend north Carolina they have more bears and bigger bears than anywhere else
