Has anyone used these or any eddie bauer down jackets? Specs look good, 800 fill water repellent goose down with dwr shell. Tempted to buy since retail is $199, local outlet has them for $129.

I bought the hooded version just a few weeks ago on clearance. Nice and compact but I haven't worn it outside the house yet.

I've got a few year old downlight, pre waterproof down. It's very warm, light and the build quality is excellent. Definitely a good deal if you don't need camo.

Just looked at them in store and just can't do it. Even for $80, the arms are too baggy for layering. Tried it on with a couple shells and the forearms bunch up and twist, very annoying. Kuiu tight torso with baggy arms. Build quality was very good though.

I have a MicroTherm jacket. I like how it is built and how it fits. I like the idea of it, but to be honest, I don't find myself using it very often. I use my Eddie Bauer Downlight jacket much more often. It weighs 2 or 3 oz more, and has way more loft. So, for those cool mornings or evenings in camp, I pack the Downlight. If I was expecting warmer temps, I could bring the MicroTherm instead, but at that point, my rain jacket is probably warm enough, so I leave the MicroTherm home.

I did seem more of a summer backpacking piece. The down light you mentioned was more what I'm after, nothing in my size though. The fit may work for some, definitely try one on its a steal at that price.

The fit of the Downlight is better than that of the MicroTherm.
