I’ve had my mainframe with a vapor 2500 bag for a while. For archery elk hunting, I had no issues carrying some snacks, water, and rain gear. With turkey hunting and especially spring bear, I feel like I’m running out of space. When bear hunting, I’ll bring water, food, rain gear, 1-2 super packable jackets, spotter, tripod, meat bags, and my inreach/power bank along with a rifle scabbard. With all of this loaded into/onto the bag………..it’s really stretched out for simple day trips. I ordered a vapor 5000 to hopefully have more room and have an easier time getting my rifle into the scabbard.

Has anyone else run into this?

I run their dry bags as they’re significantly cheaper, still light and added bonus keeps all your gear dry if any weather. I plan on picking up the new one they just came out with that has more of the vapor functionality externally.

I'd suggest getting a pair of the batwings or a lid.
I can stuff my kill kit, water, food, puffy jacket and pants, rain jacket, tarp, FA kit in that combo. Whole rig comes out to 10ish pounds. Pretty slick for day trips.

I think if you go with a bigger bag you'll end up packing more and more junk until you bog yourself down.

Agree with this. Missed the day trip part. I run this same setup.
