Easy havalon blade change

Lots of questions about safely changing blades. This is my method. Ignore the dirty knife from last December!

I don't use mine anymore. Never felt comfortable changing blades, especially in the field. One slip, then it's go time with the clock ticking!

I'm back to my old trusty Buck folding knife. Or fixed blades when at camp.

Not knocking the knife, damn good knife, but too sketchy for me.

Wtf did I just watch? The worst way to ever change a havalon blade, should be the title. It's very simple, push up on the rear and pull off from the tip

I do it the same way kind of.......minus the breaking it in half part. I pop the old one off and put it inside the sleeve that the new one came out of and put it in the back of my blade supply then toss the old ones after I get it home.

If one of the steps in blade changing procedure is “close your eyes so you don’t get a piece of blade in them”, maybe time for a new technique.

The tool referenced by @cmahoney works slick.
