Easton 5.0

Just received my Easton 5.0 300 spine arrows, what are your thought on the hit collars that come with them. In my opinion they are pretty sloppy of a fit. The only good thing is they fit better on my rip tko arrows

I've heard mixed reviews depending on spine. Personally, I'm a fan of the VPA collars over the Ethics as they are easier on targets. I haven't shot the Podium or IW yet.

Do you have a mic to get the outside diameter?

I never been overly impressed with any easton components.
IW, Ethics and VPA ( if you’re okay with aluminum) are all great choices.
BEA, and in some cases Victory both have better stock components than easton.

Is IW making a collar sized to fit the 5.0? I looked awhile ago at Easton 5.0 and the O.D. for the same spine was slightly smaller than the Axis 5mm

I haven't used the new easton hit collars. When I built some axis 300's years ago I used IW collars and those were really nice and fit awesome.

Its looks like most of the collars available will be a little big for the 5.0. Disappointing the fit of the easton collars on there own brand arrows

I’m sure you did this, but did you confirm the collar is the right size for the 300 spine arrow?

I’ve got some 250 spine match grade 5.0s with #3 collars, and they fit well. The collars don’t even spin when a field point is threaded on. They don’t rattle at all, and the field points and collars stay tight even after pulling from bags or 3D animals.

I dont have experience with PA's inserts in the 5.0, but i have used their titanium .204 HIITs and Ti short collars on my .204 GT Airstrikes and the tolerances are tight all around in both weight consistency and fit.

Are any of you shooting half outs? I'm considering ordering some 5.0's to try out, but I'm unsure if I want to run half outs, or the HIT insert with a collar

If you are shooting 5mm arrows always shoot insert or HIT. If I were you I would use a HIT with a collar. I say only use halfouts if you have to like on 4mm arrows. I shoot titanium half outs but that’s because I use 4mm arrows. If I had 5mm I would be using HITS

The half outs fit and spin very well. Make sure the cut is squared.

I personally prefer the hit and collars as thats the primary system I have used for many years. Had good luck with the included easton collars, and iron wills
