Hey guys I live in Eastern Washington, I have been hunting bears for the past 3 years in the fall in Eastern Wa. I am noticing on Facebook people posting huckleberries for sale. Is any one running into them already? I thought it was a little early

Been out today setting cameras at water holes. The huckleberries are ripe, we spent a couple hours picking. Sad how you can spend so much time picking and still not come out with much. It may be due to the fact that I eat more than I keep. 😂
What are you all seeing?
Also what other stable plants will bears be feeding on in the next 2 months?

They have been ready for weeks
The wifey drug me out a couple weeks ago.
I hate picking them little buggers........
But love the huck shakes

Me too! Is this normal or are they early this year?

Early... ish. The previous 2 years were not good and this year is banner. There's been plenty of years like this one though.

They were ready in Tolgate area last weekend. Some still green in the shaded areas, so should be good food for a while.

Separate question for fall bears in WA... I likely won't get out until October now. What would be the ideal food source to look that late?

Rose hips, apples, elderberry.
