I’ve been looking into the Axil gs extreme 3.0 in ear protection, I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on them, or if they have a better recommendation under $200. In ear would be ideal but if there is better over ear options for the price I’ll take a look at them. Thank you in advance!!

I just bought my sister and her boyfriend a pair for Christmas. They seem to like them. I have the Sig in ear and honestly, I'm unsure if I like them or not. Kind of inconsistent. I will probably be replacing them with the Axil.

And the price is pretty good.

what is inconsistent about the sigs. Do they use them for range or for hunting as well?

Just occasionally they change volume on what they let in. I seem to always be either turning them up or down. Eliminating gunfire works great. But in conversation, it’s up and down.

I have (I think) the 2.0’s.
Used them the first time this hunting season.
They did a lot better than I expected.
Sound had a small amount of “muffling”, wind noise wasn’t bad and they were comfortable for about 3 hours.
I’m going to experiment with the different tips some more to try and find a better fit.
But, I didn’t think that 3 hours was bad for the first time.

Noise suppression was good. No ringing after the shot and noticeably quieter.

I have the 2.0. they lasted about 2 years. They have started picking up some interference with Bluetooth on.

Was never impressed with the pass-through audio on them.

In the market for something else in 2026. Watching thread.

Did they only last the 3 hours or was that as long as you used them for ?

they are that bad... ha-ha well that good to consider then. you might've just saved me a couple hundred $ thanks for the input
They did not work well for me, but everyone is different.
I have been using these for years and the work great with gel pads. Going to try these next.

I have and very much like the 2.0 version. Not sure what they changed for the 3.0, but so long as they didn't go backwards, they're great. It takes a little practice to get them adjusted for your ears and inserted correctly (which is way deeper than you expect - touch your brain...). I've used them for about three years hunting, shooting, and training classes and have been very pleased. I don't use the Bluetooth, so I can't comment on how it works, but the rest has been as advertised.

The neatest thing for me was the sound compression. It's a unique experience to fully hear a gunshot at a volume that doesn't damage your ears. I still giggle to this day. 😂

I’ve been using the Howard Leight Impact Sports model for a few years now. No complaints. Inexpensive, basic and reliable. Never any funny business when shooting or convos. They also keep the wind off my ears when it’s cold.

I’m curious as to how well in the ear works vs. over the ear. Using them as hearing enhancement when it’s cold I always felt like they would be hindered when I’m wearing a hood/hat/beanie etc.

They're not affected by those things any more than your ears are normally. I wear beanies and hoods all the time and hearing is still better with the ear pro in than out.

Pro Ears Stealth 28 HTBT | Shooting Ear Protection for Gun Range - 28 dB Noise Reduction, Comfort Fit, 15-Hr Battery Life | Bluetooth Hearing Protection for Shooters | Electronic Shooting Ear Buds

These have worked for me the past two years for turkey hunting and range work. They are easy to use, I did buy some smaller tips,

Comply P-Series | Memory Foam Replacement Ear Tips Designed for Etymotic, NuForce, ISOtunes PRO, Q-Jays, & More | Superior Noise Isolation, Ultimate Comfort, Secure Fit | Black, Small (3 Pairs)

My ear canals won't allow me to use a standard ear bud. This company also makes larger tips if you need it larger.

I've used the Axil GS Extreme 2.0 for the last 2 seasons. This is the corded style not the earbud. I like them well enough and certainly better than no protection. I use them while chukar hunting so its nice to be able to adjust the volume when I go in for the flush. So far so good

I have the in ear peltors and they work excellent. I don't have the Bluetooth version but for hearing protection and sound amplification... they are what you would expect from 3M.

My wife bought me the AXIL xcor pros for Christmas and so far I really like them. The smallest foam tips fit my ears perfectly. I much prefer the barrel design of the foam tips to the traditional plugs that jam any ear wax deep into your skull.

For comparison, I also have some 3m peltor ear plugs and I prefer the AXIL ones much more based on comfort, fit, and functionality. I haven’t have a range day longer than 2 hours so I cannot speak to how long the AXIL batteries last.
