Does anyone else wish Kifaru would make a dedicated 2000-2500 day bag for their Duplex frame? I know you can add pockets, pods and the like, but I think a bag like an Xing or Express would be nice.
Hill people gear makes some very nice and affordable 1500-2000 ci stuff. After haling around a badlands 2200 and a mr longbow for years.... I don't feel like anything less than 3000 works for me personally while hunting.
As you mentioned, my wife uses a DT with a back pouch, mid long, belt pocket, and grab it. 1500 city, very light weight, comfortable but has the ability to haul a ton on the first trip out.
I would be the first to order one. Been looking at hill people and stone glacier for a day pack set-up. I made a pack of my own but not real happy with it.
I have a DT3 and DT1. On a backpacking trip either compress small enough for day use. A minor complaint is having to dig to the bottom of the bag.
I have also run a Back Pouch and Side Zip Long Pocket with a Cargo Panel for day use. That configuration eliminates the bottom of the bag complaint but has minimal storage.
When I first saw the Stone Glacier Approach bag I really liked it. Friday afternoon it showed up. I have only weighed and played around with it. This week I'll give it a little trail time.
