It’s not for everyone. I’ve been in Wyoming full time since 2001 and off and on since 1990. No surprises for me after 35 years.
They fell into the trap of thinking Wyoming matches well to what they do in the summer and that would be enough to be happy. The winter months in Dubois would be quite enjoyable for those who like snow machining, or have an annual routine of hibernating with inside hobbies. With video chatting, e books, high speed internet, and a gigantic selection of on demand videos and movies, there’s more to occupy bad weather days or weeks or months than ever before.

I also firmly believe some kids don’t develop good skills in starting new hobbies and that follows them through life.

Stopped for gas on a bike trip a few years ago. Wife went in to pay while I attempted to fill the tank. The attendant lady wouldn’t turn the pump on until my wife actually handed her a twenty and she had it in her hand. She was worried that I was going to fill up, then have my wife run out and get on while I started the bike, then take off without paying. Because thats what all dirty bikers with $30k motorcycles loaded down with camping gear do.

Fellers just be hotspotting their own honey holes these days.
Oh, only in a vague, general sense, I believe.

Saying there’s some good elk country around Dubois is something already known. But between the Winds on one side and the Absarokas on the other, there’s a lot of big country there that takes some seasons to get to know.

Plus, relocating to Wyoming is not for everyone. Including people who would enjoy elk hunting in Wyoming.
