Dry Fire Blues......

Like others have said. First, "Face or Nuts". Then I would call Mathews and very politely and humbly tell them your story of what happened. Let them know exactly how much you love that bow and how much time you spent to find that cam. Be very nice. It's worth a shot and who knows, they may take care of you and since you're already expecting a worst case scenario of spending money, it's not going to hurt as bad if they turn you down.

That sucks and I know the feeling. In 07 I accidently dry fired my brand new Hoyt. I have shot bows my whole life and I know better but the string slipped and now i will never draw a bow back that is not knocked up with an arrow.. any way it threw my peep out of the string and shattered it when it hit the wall. I took it to my pro shop and they inspected it. Said no big deal put a new peep in it and I have been shooting it since then with zero problems.

Some bows just handle a dry fire better than others. ;) gotta love those Hoyt's!

Mathews will not warranty the bow. They will advise him to take it to an authorized dealer for service.

While they have no responsibility to repair the bow that would be pretty weak if they didn't do anything for him. They have an opportunity to make a customer happy who would no doubt tell everyone he knows the positive experience he had with Mathews.

oh man!! i have no real advice. just wanted to chime in to tell you Sorry this happened to you.

ask the friend.."face or gut?"

i would call Mathews ASAAP. they are a super sympathetic group. BTW, my brother dry fired his SBXT, and the limbs survived., he had a cracked nock and right when he fired, he saw the arrow fall off the string. i think the cam bent as well. if you are the original owner, i bet the company helps you a lot.

Boom that about made me spit my coffee. Face or Gut.... Good stuff right there.

Really sucks bad about the bow. You have someone to get you fixed up I hope?

Twin if your not getting anywhere with Mathews and you dont have a local place to deal with the damage. PM me. I can have you send the bow out to our shop Quickdraw Archery. We are not Mathews bow guys but we talk to them all the time and work orders for other customers parts with Mathews. Happy to assist anyway I can man. I feel super bad for ya and Id of lost my $h!t on that guy. Let me know if I can assist.

I'm sitting here in Sparta, WI just a few miles from the factory. I have a buddy that's a semi big-wig over there and I can ask him if there's a cam around and ship it out myself if that's all you need. I cant promise you anything I have no idea if they still make parts for that bow.

I would pm schleppy.

It pays to know people. I blew up a 2 day old PSE, two days before sectionals. Called my friend and got a name at PSE, and after my explanation he asked "what do you need?"
"everything but the riser....."
Had it back together the next day. He wouldn't let me pay for anything but shipping.
