Dropping weight on a rifle

Honestly I don’t notice the difference between carrying my light rifle to my heavy one. Eventually the both get heavy as the miles get long. The best thing I can do is train. Any rifle under 9lbs is a beauty. I also notice I had to change my shoot technique with a light rifle. Took quite a bit of getting use it. That needs to be factored in.

Either or, it really is amazing how easy it is to kill things with a gun. Thinking of switching to the bow soon as it could be a fun challenge. Then you will probably see my asking about lightening my bow 😂😂🤦‍♂️

Rifle weight is an interesting thing. On the pack, the difference between 7.5# and 9# is negligible. However, in timber, I carry my rifle in my hand for both maneuverability and if a quick shot opportunity presents itself. One hand carry for a big part of the day is infinitely more enjoyable the more you get under 8# for me.
