No way that thing if finding a deer better than a good tracking dog. The videos on their website aren’t all that impressive really. He had to wait to fly it at night because he was getting heat signatures off the radiant heat on vegetation. The deer they do show were out in open fields. If you have to wait till dark, and the deer is actually dead and buried in thick brush somewhere, thermal imaging isn’t going to see it.
I’m not anti technology, but this just seems like a gimmick and one dude trying to turn a hobby into a business opportunity, can’t fault him for that.

Some of you may agree with me or disagree with me but I'll leave a deer laying in the woods before I utilize this service.

I'm drawing the line at my own personal ability to either track a deer or let a deer tracking dog find the deer. If neither of those can find the deer, then I didn't deserve it. Too much digital Bull$shit is being incorporated into hunting.
IMO, it is no diff than calling in tracking dogs or using an Ebike instead of riding a horse.

I can understand the attempt to keep tech out but its already everywhere.

Best solution is an ethical shot and find it ourselves. With the advent of tracking dog popularity, im saying guys need more target practice and to keep their nerves calm.

I enjoy the videos, when I worked at a high volume whietail outfit this would have been gold, saving hours of time looking for deer that were still alive. Try telling your client that after he claims he "smoked em"!

I have seen dogs do some amazing things on tracks, as well as them completely blow it! And I am talking one of the most experienced and well known trackers in the country!

The best "woodsman" in the history of the world isn't finding your deer if it is currently alive and 5 miles down the road!

I shot a buck once that I tracked for days and was sure he had to be dead, but who knows. significant blood out of the chest cavity on both sides, but lost blood eventually and circled for a long time. I was to the point where I thought about heading to the airport to see if there was a pilot that would take me up to look, but was really cash poor at the time. It was all private ground and I was the only one hunting so wouldn't have messed anyone up. Had drone tech been available at that point I may have picked one up just to help me look as it was all open grassland. I saw the vids, and can certainly see the value of doing this. At least you would know what happened to the deer if he found it.
