At the moment it would be a toss up between my Remington 700xcr2 375HH and my Kimber mountain ascent 300win mag. For bears and moose and float hunts that 375 is great. For mountain hunts I sure do like that Kimber 300mag.

I guess if I was really pressed, I’d choose the 300 as it will handle moose and bears just fine.

Is that kimber factory? Or have you had some work done? I’ve got a 70s rem 700 in 300wm that I picked up for 50 bucks and can’t decide if I want to build that out or just get a new platform all together.

The Kimber is just a factory gun, I really like the kimbers and they seem to have lost of the things I’d want to upgrade already. Good fiber glass stocks, good triggers etc. I’ve found them easy to work up loads for too. My 300 shoots Bret with 200g accubonds and partitions but I’ve also worked up a lot of other excellent loads for it as well.

26in proof barrel 7wsm 1-8 twist

Timney 517 trigger

Manners carbon fiber stock one of the hunting flavors.

Whatever gun I happen to be holding when I next get the chance to go sheep hunting.

.270 win in a mid-70's tang-safety m77 RS, topped with FX 6x42 Leupold. Traded the irons for a blueing job and stripped and oiled the stock late 80's. Waaay lighter after that. Tipped over more rams than most rifles.

Picked up a Barrett FC in 7-08. Think I will throw a Swarovski Z3 on it. Should be one very handy package.
