Draw length measuring long

I made a drawboard finally just the other day so I could check things st home. Anyway, I have a friend who asked me to look his bow over. His draw length is set at 30” but it’s meauring 30.5 on the board. My bow is set at 29.5 and measures to exactly 29.5. Why would his be measuring so much longer than his post setting?

Some bows run long, my 30 inch cams run 1/4 long my other bow is 5/8ths long I’m yet to have one right on the money, checked a friends bow last week that was 3/8ths long, what bow is it?

His is a Bowtech Realm X, mine is a Reign 7. I've never had a Bowtech measure long. He bought it used and really makes me wonder about strings/cables.

some bows run long, some brands are Notorious for I have a long draw length

Could certainly be the case that the string is out of spec. Put a couple twists in it to see how much it changes. Keep notes so you can undo.

They run them long to bump up the speed when shot thru the chrono.

Funny, I had both those bows and that was my exact experience with them both. I sold the X.
