I've used the warne vertical rings extensively over the last several years (maybe a decade?) on a variety of scope brands and calibers with excellent results. I've never had a negative experience with them. No scope damage, no slipping, no scope related accuracy issues. Scope brands have included Leupold, Bushnell, Sig, Vortex, and Burris, and maybe one or two others that don't immediately come to mind. Just my personal experience.

I used one set of vertical splits on a vx3, in those rings the windage would not adjust. Scope worked fine in other rings before and after. That's my only experience.

Most require clamping the scope tube with same force as the rail - that's not good for scope internals. Lots of info online if you look for it.

The Warne Tikka mounts I used clamp directly to the barrel dovetail, 25 in lbs on all screws. No clamping issues on the scope tube ie binding, etc.
I know what you're talking about, as I experienced that on another gun with conventional ring mounts with binding when adjusting the magnification.

Bought myself a Roughtec yesterday in 6.5cm.
My wife will use it more than me. I prefer my Fieldcraft in 06.
Got the trigger down to 2lbs.
Bought a demo Leupold VX5HD for $250 less than the going price.
Probably order the Warne rings.
Ordered the vertical grip insert and a 5 round mag.

I have 3 friends with Tikka 6.5CMs.
All 3 are simply incredible shooters out of the box and for the money it’s a no brainer.

Got a box of Barnes LRX 127gr I’m gonna see if it likes to get it started.
I purchased one in the 300 win mag in 2020 because of all of the reviews I found on here. I love it.
