I have been wearing nearly all Kuiu but just found a used King's Transition Down Jacket on marketplace used and have never worn a Super Down Pro. Has anyone worn the Kings and the Kuiu Super Down Pro and can give me feedback? By taking the fill power and multiplying the ounces of down, they seem to be almost the same warmth. In videos I have watched, the Kuiu seems to be a lot more noisy, the King's is so quiet that I feel I can bow hunt in it but the face fabric doesn't seem as durable as the Kuiu and I don't believe it will be as water resistant. Any feedback on these 2 pieces would be greatly appreciated.

I have worn the lighter down Kuiu and the Kings. The kings jacket is a really solid jacket for it's weight. If you can get a deal on it, I would totally recommend it as a kit piece. It will do the "light puffer" job really well as a 4th or 5th layer. None of these are "winter coats"- they are light, relatively delicate layering pieces. Once you accept that, the Kings Transition is perfectly functional for it's purpose- mainly for glassing and keeping warm in camp.
