Any recommendation on a double bow case to fly with? I’m looking at skb 42-17 db. I found a smoking deal on one but I’m concerned that the 6.5” internal hight isnt enough.

Thanks in advance

Are you looking to actually put 2 bows in it? If that’s the case it most likely won’t fit 2 bows with accessories on them.

Yes, 2 bows. Planning on detaching quiver’s, stabilizers and my sight as it has a dovetail.

I know when I flew to Alaska we couldn’t fit 2 bows in a SKB. We ended up buying a Pelican case. The thing is when you get a case big enough for 2 bows they are heavy empty. We fly every year with the bows and ended up buying separate cases.

I have a SKB double not sure which model it is but I took off the accessories of my bow and my son's bow each year we flew and had no issues. They are big and bulky but they protect your gear from the luggage slingers.

It looks like theirs a 7 inch version and a 10 inch version.

Personal opinion: if I am flying on a hunt and taking a back-up bow, it goes in a different bag than my bow case. It would be a bad deal tom show up with most of your stuff other than both your bows. I've only had one issue when packing that way, just had to borrow a stabilizer and a sweatshirt to be able to hunt when only one of my bags arrived.

In terms of SKB cases, love them for travel but I would want to get as much internal space as possible versus saving a few bucks.

It’s two of us flying. I’ve been contemplating the same thing if we should take two cases or just one. We both have a soft case, but that doesn’t do us much good.
