Thank you for the reminder. I just bought some cut resistant gloves and will buy some quick clotting agent to add to the kill kit.

For those that have gloves, are you wearing them on both hands or just your non-dominant hand?
The hand that is not holding the knife. I just dispose of the no-cut glove after use. With the price they are on Amazon, I figure our household can weather that cost (considering the potential alternative).

Maybe it's just me. but it seems I am forever changing the blade on my Havalon, might be just what they planned. I'm not sure if it was this site or another, in any event a guy was working on boning out an Elk and ended up cutting through a tendon right above his knee. He made a make shift splint and made it back to his truck and called friends for help. He posted pictures of the cut while he was in ER, real deep nasty cut.
