Rescuers said a family was on a hike with their dog, Arlo, when he went ahead of the group and three moose got between them.

Oh, a moose will stomp a dog? Who knew?

Just wait until people start losing a few dogs to reintroduced wolves…

I‘m a dog lover/owner and have no problem with people who have well behaved and trained animals that are off leash in appropriate places and circumstances.

If people would just be considerate enough to heel their dog when approaching others and/or other dogs, and teach their dogs to come when called, we’d have a lot less issues.

Until that happens though, I don’t have much sympathy for anyone or their dog that gets stomped by moose, chewed up by a predator, or even kicked down the trail by some hiker who is annoyed by a dog that is barking at or harassing them.

You should see the panic when the hawks take flight looking for lunch.

Yeah, must have been super hard for a bunch of volunteers to drive their subaru's to a trailhead and walk a mile with a stretcher.

Haha my brother lives in Star and sends me posts from the star Facebook group it is hilarious. We grew up in a town in South Dakota and we’re considered city people but compared to the dumb stuff on there we are pretty damn country. He is also a mechanic and the amount of people who never leave the valley that come in for snow tires is crazy.

I got charged by a cow moose a couple years ago when spring bear hunting up in Montana. She missed me by about 3ft!
