I purchased the 145 and 200 merino wool for the first time. Assuming you follow the recommended care instructions, does it tend to shrink any.

I ask because my 118 Peleton (sp?) tend to shrink unless hung out to dry

I always air dry new gear after the first wash

Then I walkways “try” to halfway dry my gear then air dry the remainder.

I always hate when something shrinks even a hair.

Just be cautious and you’ll be fine.

I just got the kuiu merino LS hoody myself and followed this routine. It’s good.

I went the lazy, impatient route and bought all my merino two sizes larger. It gets laundered alongside my other hunt clothes.

Works for me.

Probably my safest route my wife washes my stuff by accident routinely and here comes the drier

Considering Kuiu stuff seems to be sized really small I order my Kuiu gear a size larger anyway. My wife washes and dries my stuff in the machines and it has not shrunk. I only have a hooded 145 and the zip-off pants. I wore them religiously during goose season and washed and dried many many times. Never an issue for me.

I have two of their merino pieces and both shrunk with regular laundering.

also, agree with @Sherman i have to size up kuiu tops and bottoms On everything. I am a XXL top in every other brand. Have to go 3xl in kuiu and add a size or a couple of inches to their pants to make them work.

Same here. Kuiu must size their stuff based on some super small dudes.

Yeah. I think they didn’t want their camo out there in the bubba crowd. Whatever.

FWIW - one of those merino pieces shrunk enough that I gave it away. I probably should have been more careful washing and drying it, which I do for some high end hunting clothing, just not my base layers.

also FWIW - been very happy with their synthetic base layers epsoecialy the 97 and doubt I would feel the need to give their wool another shot.

I guess I’m the exception, while kuiu gear sizing is wonky for the merino tops I’m a medium like other clothing. I wash the same as any merino in cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. It’s never shrunk.

Anything that is made of wool, I will hand wash and lay on drying rack. I never throw wool in a dryer (made the mistake once). I never let my wife wash/dry my hunting clothes (nor does she want to.)
I wash and hang most of my clothes.

Not if it is washed and dried like they recommend. Gentle cycle and air dry has worked for me. To me, Kuiu is about a 1/2 size smaller than what they have on the label.
