I bought a pair on Amazon in December 2013 around Christmas time when Amazon did a 25% off sale and surprisingly had the Kenetrek mtn extremes included. I got them for $297! I haven't watched to see if they have done that again since then but thought I'd mention it.

EuroOptics had them on sale for 20% off when I got mine. It is always worth giving them a call to see what kind of deal you can get.

You had better be planning on one hard break in on the Mtn extremes! They fit some well right out of the box and others like me ...well I can tell you the heel rub is bad. But when you get them broke in I am told they are awesome. I have not got to that point.The only time they fit me good was after a river crossing and the pack back to camp with wet boots. After they dried I thought they were finally broke in! No they were not. They are a really good boot and built to a high standard but they just have to fit your foot and they do not fit mine to date. The other thing is they are heavy so keep that in mind. Good luck! These days I am all about light weight!
