I unstring my longbow every time I finish shooting it. My brother left a cheap recurve strung in a closet for several years and came back to find a twisted limb and the draw weight was noticeably less once we got everything straightened out.
If your leaving them strung make sure to not leave them leaned against a wall on the limb too for a long amount of time that could cause it to twist. I leave mine strung if It’s the bow I’m shooting. Usually hang it off the rack
I have a black widow recurve that has been strung for almost all of its 20 year life span. It still shoots just like the day I bought it. It hangs by the string on 2 pegs above a door in our living room
Always thought unstringing would be a must do, but when I bought my Satori recently they told me it could stay strung... I also try to shoot most days since getting it though.
But I like the thought of what some of you folks do with unstringing for travel and such so will most likely do that for peace of mind!
