Do you still like your Peloton 240?

I know some of you guys have had this piece for years so what do you like or dislike? I'm looking for a full zip mid layer that can also be worn as an outer layer.

Had a jacket and vest for a couple years and I liked them then, but what I found was it was a difficult piece to place considering it was not breathable enough/too warm to wear during exertion but not substantial enough to justify carrying it as an insulation or second layer packing on the daily.

I found that I wore it a lot on dirtbike/ebike/quad ridden backcountry hunts (if I was at the truck I’d just use my jetstream) as a wind/second mid layer and that was about it. Enter the Sitka Mountain Evo plus the Ambient line and I ditched mine quick.

For a true mid layer I think it’s hard to beat the Polartec Alpha and Primaloft Evolve fabrics. I really love my Ambient pieces and look forward to trying all the new similar offerings. As for my wind layer the MTN Evo is now discontinued but I’m sure something will take its place.

I still think the 240 could definitely be used in the right circumstance and it’s a great do it all kinda well piece, but if you’re a gear junky and can afford the multiple other pieces, they’ll outperform it every time imo

Peloton 240 is good for cutting the wind and near worthless for providing warmth.

Great piece for when climbing and soaking your clothes with sweat. Stopping to glass/rest and throwing the 240 on to "bake" dry the torso layer(s) you have on. This is one area that using rain gear isn't going to work well.

Up to the hunt and gear list to determine if mine comes with me. Do strongly recommend the hooded as glacial wind going down your neck onto soaked clothes sucks.

While not backpacking, I use mine a lot tree stand hunting. It's a great layer to throw on to cut the wind or as the temps drop in the evening. I love it for bowhunting because it is super quiet

I love my Peloton 240 hoodie. I got one in solid colors - mostly a dark green - off the Kuiu Outlet. I live in Georgia (not that cold) so I where it Fall, Winter, Spring casually and as part of layers for cool/colder PRS mornings in the South. Used it as part of layer system while hunting in Wyoming and New Mexico too. Great for airline travel too when you never know how cold the aircraft cabin will be.

Mine comes with me nearly everywhere. I love that it can handle oak brush without shredding and has great wind resistance… over a merino base, it will keep you quite warm for the weight.

Comfortable stand alone in mild temps and layers well in cold. Too warm for me to wear hiking but most all midlayers are.

I can echo the ambient taking the 240s place for many hunts. When backpacking and minimizing layers, I’ll always have a shell and a puffy, both which stop wind. Ambient (or polar tech alpha by another name) has a great temp range while moving and cutting a mild wind (I run hot while moving). I’ll still use 240 as a single layer in the pack for early and hot weather spot and stalk bow hunts where I might be sitting for a couple hrs and crawling around, it’s a little burlier and a light standalone wind breaker.

Like mine. Lots of miles on the Verde both spring and fall backpack hunts. Still holding up well. Have a Vias for late season and like it to. Like the hoods, good fit for me.

I’ve had mine for 8 yrs (I believe). I absolutely love mine for whitetail hunting. Also wear it all the time around town. I’m in central AR.

It’s been on a few backpack hunts and is a great mid layer and I’ve found one of the very best uses for me is over a puffy. It provides wind protection and keeps my puffy from getting shredded in brush and briars.

I found the sleeves very tight, specifically in the forearm area. That combined with micro fleece lining can make it irritating to put on or take off over a long sleeved shirt. I think it’s not that warm of a jacket, but does cut the wind decently.

I love it and think it's extremely warm for the weight. haven't found a mid or outer layer that I like better.

I carry mine or the old 260 all the time hunting. Nice for the cool September mornings when you’re moving slow through timber. It does snag bad which is a bummer. Good piece and I’m glad I have it. I can get to some cold temps with it under a puffy and if windy throw a rain jacket over

I’ve had one since they came out ish. 2016 I think maybe 2015.

I use it almost everyday I hunt (40-50/year) starting in September for elk and going through November/December then again in the spring shed hunting.

Ss tee, peloton 97, peloton 240 will comfortably handle most dry conditions other than very cold or very static.

It’s alright as a shirt if you want more than a base layer, but it’s not much more

I like that it doesn’t have a hood

I’ve added double chest pockets to mine as the original pockets are worthless with a pack on

I’ve patched it multiple times, but it’s probably over 10 years old so that’s actually pretty good with how much use it’s gotten

I've had one for 7-8 years and it continues to be one of my favorite pieces. Layer over merino or, if it's colder, over a 97, and it's surprisingly warm. I have to be pretty cold/stationary to pull out a puffy. Most times, I'm grabbing the 240.
