Do you carry your sidearm loaded?

Most of the time, but there are circumstances when I dont, like pocket carry. Im not comfortable with a loaded pistol pointed directly at whoever is sitting across from me, no matter the holster or how safe the pistol supposedly is.

Any how many of you have actually pointed a weapon at someone? No response needed but I bet it’s not many.

I’m sure some of you have - no doubt. Not fun.

But a whole lot of you guys act like you are gonna get jumped by zombies popping up out of every dumpster you pass.

I know friends who have numerous combat tours who have fired numerous shots at people who are absolutely trying to kill them, and they are less concerned than some of you all appear to be.

I had a marine friend, now deceased, who killed numerous people in Korea. I mean dozens. In fact he’s talked about in a book called Colder than Hell. Anyway, he carried a small 22 revolver and it was loaded. However, he used it twice to ward off problems simply by pointing it at people. Most people are simply not prepared to kill mentally.

The vast majority of people will shit and run when you point a .45 in their face and they can see that you ain’t kidding.

You think you'll always have 2 hands free to draw and chamber that round?

Carrying unchambered is very much like thinking you can put your seatbelt on just before you need it.

Take a defensive handgun class, where you draw and fire a chambered handgun a few hundred times, and the issue will 100% disappear for you. Carry chambered.

The last time I was carrying an unloaded pistol was around 1987. Pistol was in my pack. Coyote trots by about 40 yards out, winter in MO, a couple inches of snow on the ground. Had my camera ready and got some pics. Felt like a damned fool.

Nope. My goal is if I ever get in a situation I need my sidearm Ill be able to let the animal or human know ill need a few seconds to get ready for the attack, and it gives them a chance to walk away.

If I have my handgun on me its hot, including no safety. If its in a truck in a glove box or in a case its unloaded.

If I were to go into the backcountry with a unloaded gun. I might aswell start buying Starbucks and dye my hair blue.

Pointed a weapon at someone. - Once, home invader about 12yrs now. Pretty sure the dude was drugged out and didn't even know what the heck he was doing....I held him at gunpoint for the handful of minutes it took for the county sheriff to arrive. I would greatly prefer to never have to do that or anything like it again....But, you never know what the future holds.

I'm not afraid of zombies...yet lol. I'm not statistically worried about needing to draw a weapon. But I understand that it is a potential possibility. I prefer to never draw a weapon on someone again. And I don't carry all of the time. But I carry sometimes, and when I carry its loaded.

If I'm in a situation where i feel the need to draw my weapon, then I'm already in a very bad situation. The chances of needed that weapon loaded has gone up exponentially at that point.

Even if I don't exercise it all the time, I take my 2nd amendment rights extremely seriously.

Im a wheel gun guy so things are a touch different, but yeah, an unloaded gun is super useful as a blunt force weapon but not for its designed and engineered purposes
