Curious what is preferred for most folks in elk country. Doing my final pack our and can’t decide.

I throw away the rubber covers.

I leave my tripods as-is since I have never had a situation arise where it didn't work. Does not matter what or where I hunt.

rubber feet are for use on manufactured surfaces (concrete, tile, etc.) where friction is needed

you don't need them on most natural surfaces

Rubber feet. They work just fine on any surface whereas metal slides on rocks. Also, the don't wear holes in your pack and other gear.

I got rubber tips on my Vangaurd. It works great up on the rocks and I usually don't have a problem just pressing them into the soft dirt but I find myself wishing I had spikes especially on dirt sidehills. I'm thinking the cats ass would be the feet that are rubber tips which twist into spikes???
