Do suppressors help with recoil?

I won’t shoot anything unsuppressed unless absolutely necessary anymore. If my 7mag wasn’t so long I’d take the break off and use my suppressor on it too.

I have a Cooper Model 92 300 win. I have a Terminator brake on it and it recoils like a kitten shooting 215 grain Bergers. My tiny wife shoots it no problem. It's very loud though.

I just got a Thunderbeast Ultra 5 for it in hopes of hunting with it. Got the can out of jail a week or two ago and tested it out. I was a little disappointed in it honestly. I only shot 4 shots with it so far. It changed my pet half minute load to over an inch. Not a big deal - I should be able to develop a load that the gun likes with the can on.

Biggest disappointment is that it recoils significantly more than it does with the terminator brake. I was a little worried about how close the scope was getting to my eye. It's the rifle that my wife uses for hunting, so I don't think it's a good combo for her. I haven't been shooting a lot recently, but I feel like it was making me want to flinch. Need to shoot it more. For this bear season I'm just screwing the brake back on and getting out the ear plugs.

I have a 9" Ultra out of jail that I need to go pick up. I figured if I'm going down the can road and waiting a year to get it, I might as well jump in with both feet. I'll play with that one as well. Maybe it will reduce the recoil a lot better. Message me from time to time if you would like updates on my thoughts.

I was able to shoot a 308 with a suppressor on a recent trip to TX and "magical gamechanger" is correct for me (not that a 308 is bad). I couldn't believe how I didn't even feel recoil on that gun. It truly seems to be the best thing to put on your gun.
Too bad I will never be able to get one for myself in Canada.

my harvester is impressive for how much recoil it takes out of my light weight hunting guns. i'm even more excited about the loss of the concussive forces from my short barrels and larger magnums.

the supersonic 'crack' is omni-directional, as stated earlier, you cannot trace the 'crack' back to a location. Suppressors reduce recoil, but more than that they change the entire recoil impulse. The trapping of gasses in the suppressor elongates the impulse and feels more like a gentle shove rather than a punch. Depending on the suppressor, a .300WM can turn into a pussy cat with can on it.
