Do not buy a Rambo Ebike

Just a warning maybe it's just my luck but probably the worst customer service I've seen in a while on something I've dropped that much money one. I have a BakCou mule that has been trouble free so I bought my son a Rambo Roamer. It is less than a month old and has 12.1 miles on it. I had to call Rambo the first day I received it due to a mechanical issue. Said they'd talk to the technician and call me back. The evening the next day I hadn't heard anything I should have boxed it up and sent it back immediately but I had to call them back myself. A little frustrated I got it running ok now I called them 5 days ago the bike won't run I gave them the problem and was told the same thing they would talk to the technician and get back with me. Still haven't heard anything. As of tomorrow I will be calling to return the bike weather they like it or not. I can see right now their customer service is lacking. I posted a negative review and they deleted it I guess now that's why you see all 4 and 5 star reviews on their products. I've never had any problems from BakCou they have been great to deal with but I just want people to know before you spent your money on an Ebike I'd look elsewhere.

I'll post my opposite experience. I bought an open box bike from them a couple of years ago. There was an issue with the electronics. I bought the last open box bike they had, and they were on to their new model year so they shipped me a brand new bike that MSRPs for about 2k more than what I spent.

They've been very responsive when I've needed stuff like a new derailer hanger and throttle lever that busted after a good crash.

Man for a niche product like an ebike that doesn’t gain much for access over a regular dirt bike I’m surprised they’re not bending over backwards. The pricing is too high for faulty customer service

I have a 2018 XP 1000 that I bought with very low mileage from a Rambo rep who was gathering funds to start his own business in a unrelated field. The bike came with practically every accessory available and was in great shape. I really haven't had any problems with it but I pay a lot of attention to taking care not to beat it up or cause any unnecessary damage.

I joined a Facebook page in order to learn more about it and I do see a very wide array in the level of customer service satisfaction... It's a little unnerving to be honest. I have access to a 5k acre game rich ranch in west Texas with good roads throughout and it's a blast to hunt from the bike.

Does that bow holder really work? I didn't think it looked very sturdy. You ever use it with a rifle?

Yeah, it actually works pretty well. I haven't hauled a rifle on it much but I'd likely put it in a hard or soft case and bungee it down. I keep bungee cords with me and secure anything that I put on the bike well with them. You can strap a lot to the rack. I often strap my spinning rig to it for fishing.

I haven’t had any issues with mine and going on close to 100 miles. They’re based out of Lakeville Mn I think and all my buddies who have them have had great CS. Good enough where guys will drop it off for an issues and they’ll replace/fix it and while they’re at it, they’ll update any parts where they’ve had issues free of charge and typically without even asking.

That’s right at the main HQ though as some guys I was on a lease with liver within 20 miles or so of them.

I had some issues with mine and called their customer service 3 different times and left messages, never got one call back. My hub makes a fairly loud clicking noise that won’t go away. Then the display would go out, I finally located a bad connection. Finally it wouldn’t shift into the 3rd gear range. A friend of mine was able to adjust the cables and fix that problem. In my opinion that’s a lot of issues for a new bike.

Very poor customer service, I would not buy another bike from them.

A know a guy who I think went thru 2 or 3 of the Sturmey-Archer hubs. They kept sending him replacements.

He got hooked up with a bike guy and they realized that it had been installed backwards or something to that effect.


Don't know if he had trouble getting ahold of them, but he sure has problems making it reliable for a while. I think once the planetary got sorted out it's been fine.

I’ve had good CS from them on mine, but the thing is a heap. Or all the parts on it are at least. The shock, the brakes, the gearbox, the wheels, etc. all junk!

I'm gonna make a few calls tomorrow and see if I can't send this thing back. I would have bought a different brand if I'd known it would have been such a headache.

The problem with e bikes is you have to spend $6-8k to get good quality. You could buy a nice used real dirt bike for less. It’s just stupid what the things cost.

Getting an error code 09 with no damage to motor wires and none are disconnected all are still new. They said I needed an extension cable the first time I called but it's a new bike and it worked 10 minutes prior. I explained that to them and was told they'd call me right back. I've not heard back from since. It's a brand new bike I get it they're flaws sometimes but I would like decent customer service and an honest review system for their products.
